As many of you know, last week was held a new edition of Ludum dare, one of the largest online gamejams all around the world. In this type of gamejams participants make a video game about a theme proposed by the community in 48-72 hours.
I’ve always liked to try games that have come out of previous editions and I thought: Hey! why don’t I sign up and see what I’m able to do? So with very little experience and a lot of desire to do something from scratch, I started looking for people willing to participate in my team.
I met two wonderful artists. On the one hand I found @fromguer, an experienced music composer, and on the other hand @GuarigliaLuis, an experienced programmer with knowledge of pixelart, a super creative guy from whom I have learned a lot.
The theme of the gamejam was «Sacrifices must be made», so we got down to work all weekend and managed to develop Rain Away, a runner with Rogue like elements.
Ludum Dare was a weekend full of work but above all a very enriching experience to measure our skills. I will not hesitate to participate in future editions, as it is the perfect excuse to develop new ideas, improve as a developer and meet great people!
